Advances of truss system
Advantages of the prefabricated truss system include:
* Computer design and efficiency - Prefabricated timber roof trusses are designed using advanced structural engineering software based on sound engineering principles. Studies conducted in Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Indonesia have shown that a roof can be designed and built using up to 40 per cent less timber than the traditional on- site bolted and nail stick- built rafter roof.
* Quality control - Trusses are factory manufactured, which allows for exacting standards of quality control that ensure minimum variation in truss profiles for a particular batch.
* Cost of construction - Pre-fabricated trusses are known to save up to 20 per cent on the roof structures compared to that of other construction methods or materials.
* Speed of installation - Trusses are delivered to the site as complete units, allowing roofs to be erected quickly. In a recent study on a large Malaysian housing scheme, it was found that a prefabricated timber roof could be built as much as four times faster than a conventional timber roof, and
* Roof shapes - Any roof shape such as gables, scissors and hips can be achieved. Trusses are custom-made to any design, pitch or span for new buildings or to match an existing structure.

Quite a hot relocatable. The site has some cool pics, unfortunatly, I have no idea how to extract them...

more photos of modular educatonal buildngs (most of them look ugly to me)
Hmm, interesting design solution. Here is what Google image gave me for search input relocatable. Well, it must be hard to walk in those, but I would not expect that the girl needs to be craned in order to relocate. :)
Romantic School
Universidad de Monterrey: Preparatoria Unidad Valle Alto
No, it is not a relocatable building. However, I thought it is worth a post.
I would not say that it is the most beautiful school I came across. Quite frankly, the visual appeal is not on the forefront of the design n this school.
The school promotes environmental awareness: the design follows the land, none of the trees are removed and building orientation is also considered. Nevertheless, I would not dare to claim that the building is environmentally sustainable – there was hardly anything about it n the design review.
What I like about the whole thing that it provides various uses, there are an open roof terrace over the library there are many beautiful nooks in the building with a nice and natural atmosphere. Looking, at the photos I had a feeling of very friendly and informal space.

website index page idea

Hello! Here is a crappy sketch of my idea for a main page.
Since we are targeting for pre-school kids and thinking of a kind of modular structure (as far as I understand), I had an idea for our web-site style to mix nature with technology and create an artificial nature… aluminum flowers, red glazed ladybird, bolts and springs growing from the ground…
All the flowers and ladybird are to be links to different content…
…well that’s just a rough idea…
